The
third-generation Grand Vitara is a pure SUV
(sport utility vehicle) born and bred to free the spirit and open paths
where none existed before. Under a product concept of "off-road athlete", it
then exactingly engineered the model in the same way athletes rigorously train
to excel in a wide range of demanding situations. The goal was straightforward:
Improve on the real all-road mastery, efficient performance, practical urbanity,
and the ease of use people have come to associate with the Grand Vitara.
Suzuki's heritage of producing sporty 4X4 vehicles with real off-road
capabilities provided the DNA for the all new Grand Vitara.
Design and equipment levels anticipate new expectations, while technological
advances raise convenience and versatility for all. Whichever the configuration,
the Grand Vitara is not for people afraid to live beyond conventions - It's for
people who know the real journey begins where the road ends...

If I had to describe the 3.2 litre, V6, Suzuki Grand Vitara in one sentence it would go something like this; "The Suzuki was fun fun fun".
Not the biggest SUV around, nor the fastest, neither the best 4X4, but the most fun we've had in a long time. It did everything we asked of it, with fun and pizzazz.
The kind of car my daughter didn't mind being dropped off at school with, I was even told to drop her off in front of the main gate (my barometer for pizzazz).
And after doing the usual driving through town and in the country, decided to venture into the veld, to see how the Suzuki would shape there. After being smirked at by the few Toyota and Nissan 4X4 drivers there, we put the Vitara through its paces... wherever 'they' went we went, eventually showing 'them' a few tricks of our own, and we looked so much better
doing it. The Grand Vitara's got acceleration, speed and poise, plus it handles and stops just as well, without missing a beat (of ZZ Top's Sharp Dressed Man).
The 3195cc V6 mill churns out the power on demand, while the automatic gearbox handles putting the power to the wheels in the smoothest fashion possible. Every minute in the car had us falling in love with the Suzuki. The 5-door Vitara is a great all-purpose vehicle, with all the latest mod-cons, buttons and safety features, like air-con, climate control, power-steering, descent control, diff lock, low range, anti-skid brakes, traction control, air bags, central locking, alloy wheels and a very lekker sound system.
OH... and the best thing about this Suzuki is its powerful 3.2 litre high-tech engine, a tad thirsty when you put your foot down, but it can be driven economically if you take it easy.
